Caity & Nick and their sweet newborn, Isla

I’ve been photographing Caity and Nick since their dreamy beachy engagement session over 4 years ago. I daresay the same gorgeous pinky tones made a revival for their sweet baby girl! Caity is the queen of meaningful details, and seeing her STUNNING nursery was a treat! As a Winnipeg newborn photographer, I get to see many beautiful nursery spaces and I love seeing all the thoughtful details each family picks out. Caity and Nick’s faith is so important to them, and their nursery boasts loudly of their love for Christ!

Something I always recommend is to choose a dress that you feel beautiful and comfortable in for your newborn session. (This is why I have a curated client closet for my mama’s to choose from!) Outfits are always such a big part of your photos as they direct the tones and mood! Caity’s stunning dress is a favourite of mine from Nothing Fits But. I love them for the motherhood stage of life, as they fit any season, and look breathtaking as sizes fluctuate!

Newborn sessions are such a wonderful way to slow down and enjoy the morning with your new babe and bottle these hazy, fleeting days up. They’re gone before you know it, and sometimes that is a blessing. But there’s nothing like time to make you want to remember all these little details.

How to make the most of your newborn session

Recently, I have started offering custom framing options after your session! It pains me to have all these important memories fade away into a camera roll over the years. There’s something that keeps you so present about being able to admire artwork on the walls. No distractions, no screen eye strain, and a beautiful way to display your family legacy. If your walls are feeling bare and you have been desiring something meaningful to put on them, I can guide you through that process after your session!

My other favourite way of showcasing your photos is through a custom-designed book! I offer a few options, from magazine style, to hardcover book or heirloom layflat album. These are my recommendations if you can’t pick just a few favourites and want to flip through many photos! You could even combine several sessions, like your baby’s first year from maternity to first birthday!
