Ashgrove Acres
So, I am a details person. Planning our wedding was so much fun (although I am so glad I never have to do it again!). Every little thing I included had its purpose and was so important to me. Also, I am really sentimental! It took months to find the perfect bouquet charm to put a photo of my dad in. I asked Lauren, my florist, to put a single lily into the ceremony installation at Ashgrove Acres to honour the grandmother I never knew, Lilly. Family was my biggest focus when it came to planning and where I drew all my inspiration. I chose the happiest, brightest colour palette to symbolize all the happy beginnings and the joy that I know is to come.
The whole morning getting ready was so relaxing! Hanging out with my favourite people while getting dolled up is quite enjoyable it turns out! We got ready in the house I grew up in, and it was really peaceful hearing the rain falling outside. We sipped champagne and chatted all morning. It all went by way too fast!
We met for our first look at the farm where I keep my horse Arrow. Never would I have imagined it to be so magical! Valerio even went out into the rain to bring Arrow into the barn for some portraits. My family always joked that Arrow was my first boyfriend. My dad would go around our family gatherings telling everyone that I had a boyfriend and then cracking up when he’d tell them it was a horse. Little did they know that a few months later, I’d be dating Valerio 😉
Since it was 14 degrees and rainy, we did all of our other portraits at Sunshine Greenhouse and I am obsessed with how lush and green it was! It felt like a perfectly hot, summer day inside and we were all very thankful for that! We sipped on London Fogs from Chino’s and hung out with our incredibly cute flower girls and ring bearers until it was time to leave!
The Wedding
Everyone had their eye on the weather the week leading up to the wedding and the 90% chance of rain forecast wasn’t looking overly promising. I would have loved a warm wedding but what we got was far more special! We all prayed so hard that the ceremony could be outside and the exact hour around the ceremony, the rain held off completely! We all froze our butts off but I wouldn’t have had it any other way! My (big) little brother walked me down the aisle and our friend Heiko married us. Despite the cold, it was such a beautiful ceremony!
After our chilly ceremony, our reception was warm and cozy inside Ashgrove Acres and the food was aaaamazing! We laughed and cried through the speeches and danced late into the night! Ryan, my DJ is honestly the best and I cannot thank him enough for making our dance the party it was! Also, yay fog machine!
Words can’t even describe how in love I am with every single photo. Kass captured exactly how happy and joyous our day really was and I am so incredibly grateful to be able to relive it through these photos.
Vendors
Now to give credit to every single vendor who I couldn’t have imagined this day without! There is seriously not a person on this list that I am not completely obsessed with! I could write an entire paragraph about each of these businesses and the amazing people behind them but this post is long enough, so just take my word that they are the best in the business!!
