A Summer Newborn Session in a Hidden Winnipeg Park
One of my favourite things about summer newborn sessions is the freedom to step outside and discover somewhere beautiful. Sometimes, the best little locations are hiding just around the corner. Lucky us, this little park was a quick walk from their house and was a perfect setting for this gorgeous day.
With the soft morning light, the fresh summer greens, and a brand-new baby in their arms, we had everything we needed to create memories that feel real and double as priceless family art. Their sweet Beckham was just 5 days old. For moms who treasure those first few days, sessions this soon after the baby arrives capture that indescribable fresh postpartum feeling in a really delicate way. But most often, mamas plan for their newborn photos between 7-14 days.
And can we talk about these dresses? Every one of these gorgeous pieces came from my client closet, chosen to make getting ready feel simple and effortless. The white silk dress will always be a dear favourite of mine. It’s timeless, delicate, and just so beautiful in the summer light.
A reminder that you don’t need an elaborate location or a perfectly planned day to create meaningful photographs. Sometimes, a quiet park close to home is all the magic you need.
