This day was particularly fun because it included three of my most favourite things; taking photographs, anything to do with horses and catching up with a friend I hadn’t seen in a while. (This one happened to have been in Italy for a few weeks and I’ll pretend I wasn’t jealous!) Horse portraits are a favourite of mine. The super adorable horse in the photos below is my paint horse Arrow. Arrow was a total gem that day and so I was easily able to ride him bareback, which is my favourite! I rode around in the pasture while Ana took some photos as well. This day was particularly smoldering hot and so when the sun started to go down, that was a huge relief. We spent the afternoon riding, with Ana shooting some film for a personal project you might see in the future 😉
As the sun went down we left the horses and trees and went out looking for a clear horizon to take full advantage of the sunset. Needless to say, we found the brightest, most golden sunset I’ve seen in quite a while. Then just as the sun was disappearing past the fields, we got some lovely, grainy last light shots.
